Plant medicine as a way forward

Herbs are not a step backwards.
They are a return to intelligence, agency, and connection.

Plant medicine offers a grounded path toward modern wellness—one that honours both ancient knowledge and contemporary life. Herbs are part of the future of well-being.

Herbs for Lions was born from lived experience, care, and the desire to find gentler, wiser ways forward.

For ourselves, our families, and others walking a similar path.

Courses, workshops, and lived practice

Learning with Herbs for Lions is experiential, not theoretical. Through courses, workshops, and hands-on practice, we explore how herbs work in daily life. From wonderful teas and tinctures to revitalising creams and home apothecaries.

This is holistic self-care rooted in lived experience, curiosity, and shared learning, supporting resilience, vitality, and a deeper relationship with the natural world.

Herbal knowledge for modern life

We share grounded herbal knowledge shaped for modern wellness, combining traditional plant medicine with practical, everyday application.

Our work includes recipes, workshops, courses, and carefully chosen products, all designed to make holistic health accessible and relevant. We focus on preventative health, seasonal living, and simple practices that support long-term wellbeing rather than quick fixes.

Nature isn’t alternative.
It’s original.
It’s human.

Reconnection with nature is a reconnection with you

Wellness is not something to outsource.
It’s something you reclaim.

Herbs for Lions exists to support people in taking their health back into their own hands, practically, confidently, and in rhythm with the seasons. The Story of Herbs For Lions

A Journey of Healing, Remembering, and Returning to Nature

We didn’t begin our herbal journey as herbalists.
We began as parents, desperate to help our child heal.

Our son, Lion, suffered a chronic neck injury after an accident at school. For nearly two years, we tried everything: doctors, specialists, scans, physio, massage and every recommended path that promised hope. Yet, despite all the effort, the pain remained.

Anyone who has watched their child suffer knows that feeling. The helplessness, the sleepless nights, the quiet prayers for relief. There were moments when we didn’t know where to turn next.

During this time, painkillers became a necessary part of routine. Not because we wanted them to be, but because we didn’t see another way. We knew the cost, the strain placed on the body, the imbalance caused by prolonged pharmaceutical use. We’d always chosen to live naturally, but this injury left us feeling powerless.

Until one day, everything changed.

It was summer in Sweden. We were staying in a small countryside house when Sandra noticed a wild plant growing nearby. She recognised it as Yarrow, a natural pain reliever. With curiosity and intuition as her guide, she confirmed her identification and brewed a simple tea. It was the beginning of something extraordinary.

That one moment opened a door.
The world of herbs revealed itself. Ancient, wise, and alive.
Lion began drinking healing teas, taking herbal tinctures, and bathing in infused oils. The results were gradual but profound.

At the same time, we attended a chronic pain program in Sweden, where we learned to reshape our relationship with pain itself. Experts reminded us how thought, breath, and language affect healing and how to reclaim power from what had once felt overwhelming.

We began combining movement, mindfulness, and herbal medicine. We treated not only Lion’s body, but our collective energy, as a family.

Slowly, life returned.
Pain softened.
And something even greater grew in its place: understanding.

We remembered.

We remembered our connection to nature. To the medicine that grows freely around us.
We remembered the power of thought, intention, and perspective.
We remembered that healing is holistic. Mind, body, and spirit intertwined as one.

From this remembrance, Herbs For Lions was born.
Not as a business, but as a calling.
A wish to help our son heal, and in doing so, to help others remember their own innate power to self-heal and self-support.

Years later, Lion is virtually pain-free. Our home is filled with herbs. They heal us, balance us, support us, and nourish us. Their vibration uplifts not only the body but the spirit and the mind.

Plants are living teachers.
They carry the wisdom of the Earth. Medicine for the human journey.
They remind us who we are.

Sandra became the heart of this work. She devoured books, courses, and podcasts, not to learn something new, but to remember something ancient. Her knowledge blossomed, as if awakening from a long sleep. Knowledge grew to wisdom and into something so effortlessly beautiful and powerful to share with love.

Michael has spent decades studying human nature. Through energy work, mindfulness, psychology, and spiritual philosophy. As a writer he explores the connections between us and teaches about how thoughts shape reality, how awareness transforms suffering, and how language and energy influence healing.

Together, we form two parts of the trinity that became Herbs For Lions.

The third is Emanuel, our visionary designer and digital storyteller. Emanuel brings our message to life through color, shape, and form. An explorer of consciousness, natural medicines and health, he is our resident mushroom and cacti expert. A creative force who translates energy into image.

Sandra — The Herbalist, Healer, Teacher and Creator.
Michael — The Writer, Narrator, Guide and Philosopher.
Emanuel — The Visual Alchemist, Designer and Mind Explorer.

Together, we are Herbs For Lions: A living expression of healing, remembrance, and connection.

Body. Mind. Spirit.

Rooted in the wild wisdom of nature.
Born from love.
Guided by truth.
And dedicated to helping others remember their own power to heal.
